We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the World Wide Web Consortium. Level AA is the benchmark referenced by most accessibility regulation, and it is what we hold new and redesigned pages to.

What we do in practice

Semantic HTML, so headings, lists and landmarks describe the page structure to assistive technology rather than merely looking right.
Every form field has a real label, and errors are announced in text rather than signalled by colour alone.
The whole site, including the multi-step quote form, is operable by keyboard, with a visible focus indicator.
Text and interface colours are chosen to meet AA contrast ratios.
Images that carry meaning have alternative text; decorative ones are hidden from screen readers.
Motion respects the operating system’s “reduce motion” setting.
Pages are usable when zoomed and on small screens without horizontal scrolling.

Known limitations

Some content is outside our direct control — our payment provider’s secure card fields and embedded mapping are supplied by third parties, and their accessibility is ultimately theirs to determine. We choose vendors with that in mind and will help you complete any step by phone if a third-party component gets in your way.
